My latest exercise in illustration of stories is to push away all layers of unnecessary stuff, in an attempt to get to the heart of a story in the most economic way possible. The rules I’ve made for myself in this exercise are that 1) the story be honest, and 2) the story should be told in exactly two frames. I’ve created several so far. This is a far cry from comic illustration (which is what Beware the Fish is all about). This is fairly new territory for me.
The exhibit at the Athens library continues through July 30, so if you’re around, stop by and take a look. Thanks to everyone who made it to the reception! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
