This is a map I drew of Athens in 1987.
If you can enlarge the image, here are a few things to look for: East Hill (or Bong Hill), where Joe, Robert, Jason, and I are sitting (apparently with our dog, Bugggs, who was never on East Hill).
You’ll see our High School off to the north east.
You’ll find T.J.’s house just west of Athens, and Jason’s and Todd’s houses off to the east.
The house we lived in is The Franklin House (127), possibly the largest house depicted on my map, down and left from the sun. The Franklin House was home to many, many people, far too many to mention here. You know who you are! You probably remember our parties (or don’t remember a thing about them!).
The Franklin House Family includes everyone who lived there (or stayed there, slept on a sofa or the floor) sometime between 1987 and 1990-ish. Started out with me and Jason, Robert and C.
C. moved out, and Joe (who’d been living on the sofa anyway) moved in. I have tried many times to count and name the people who lived in The Franklin House during this time, but have never arrived at a conclusive number.
If anyone remembers who lived there, let me know. Fond memories.
Anyway, this was my map of Athens, drawn 3 years before my move to Seattle, and fifteen years before I returned to my native home.
Oh, so long ago……
