This is from Atomic Yardsale, 2011.
One of the cool things about posting on my blog is the ability to see how many people have viewed the site, as well as where they are in the world. I don’t know anyone in Sweden or Argentina, but apparently there are a few people there who’ve seen my blog. To me, that’s pretty exciting. Several hits have been from Malaysia, Lithuania, and Bulgaria! (I don’t know anyone there, either!)
So, here’s the reason I’m mentioning this tonight: Earlier today, someone in South Africa viewed this blog, and now, as of today, there have been a total of 4,000 hits from over 50 countries and six continents! (Whoever you are in South Africa, you are the first viewer from Africa!)
(I’m sure lots of the hits are by accident. Someone’s searching for a birthday card online, and somehow my post of my 30th Birthday Party appears! Or someone is searching for information on amphibians, and they stumble across my post of Charles the Toad.)
It’s still kind of a personal celebration, one that I really want to share with everyone who visits this blog site: To those of you who visit here from time to time to see what I’ve posted, I’m happy you keep coming back! I love the comments and I love that people share the site with friends. I love how the blog has traveled to places I’ll likely never see, and maybe it’ll interest or entertain people I’ve never met. This has been extremely fun for me since October. I really never imagined that my drawings would travel so far and to so many people!
SO: If anyone has a friend down in Antarctica, and feels like sharing this blog with them, well, just imagine: Viewers on all seven continents of the planet! Think of it! I might be well on my way to becoming the Ruler of the Universe!!!!
